Story of Beings from Blissful

In 1976, Sally Schuessler designed and began making stuffed toys she called Blissful Beings.   She made these toys to sell to other people living in dorms at a small college in Fairfield, Iowa .  There was a frog, a bug, and an elf.  The idea was to have something to cheer up the drab, dorm rooms of students and volunteer staff.  She didn't sell many but after that, for 20 years, she made one of the frogs for any friend or family member who was having a baby. These frog gifts were a success with the babies.

In 1998, in Denver , Colorado , Sally decided to pull the toys out of the closet and start a business.  She made many redesigned frogs and bugs but had no resources or knowledge of how to get the business going.  People did not support her idea and after a few months the Blissful Beings were given away or put back in a box in the closet.

In January, 2009, Sally had been unemployed for one year and decided to try the business again.  Now there was nothing but support from friends and strangers and, along with the internet, many opportunities to promote the product appeared.  So, she set to work, perfecting the original toys and creating a business. "SASHUE Creations™ came into being to fulfill my vision of adding more beauty, love, and joy to the world by providing well made toys from high quality materials that are safe, cuddly, colorful, and fun.  Smiles are always contagious and the Blissful Beings toys can bring a smile to anyone, from infants to adults.  My mission is to provide bright, happy, uplifting toys that can encourage imagination, provide a calming and comforting influence, and help develop a happy, positive outlook.  My goal is to spread smiles, love, and happiness to any being, knowing that anyone can benefit from more of these positive qualities in their life."
